Alyse: Shadow work is not about just deciding, okay, I'm gonna go uncover what's beneath the surface. It's being able to look at the things that are already happening in your life and read them and understand them as ways that your shadow is communicating with you, and start to look at them as invitations to go deeper within yourself and look at the things that you haven't been willing to acknowledge.

One of the things I find that is one of the biggest reasons why people don't want to uncover their purpose or start to live their purpose is because of what it would mean to the life they currently created. The growth informs the shadow work and the shadow work informs the growth.

Alyse: Welcome to reclaiming consciousness. My name is Alyse Bacine, spiritual mentor, breathwork practitioner and owner, and CEO of Alyse Breathes. For many years, our consciousness has been hijacked by societal and cultural programming, religion, the media, and familial and ancestral trauma. Right now, during this epic time in history, people are waking up, realizing who they really are and reclaiming the pieces of their consciousness that they unknowingly gave away.

This podcast is an exploration of how so many spectacular humans are leading the way in exiting the matrix and reclaiming who they really are and what they're capable of. In this show, you'll meet exceptional people who are paving the way in raising conscious. And creating a new way of living on this earth.

Get ready to go deep now. Let's dive in.

Hi everyone. Welcome back to the show. So this week I recorded an episode about Shadow Work Demystified. So the intention of this episode was really for me to. Just illustrate for you my perception of what shadow work is and my experience of it, and how you can really look at it and use it in a way that's actually gonna give you momentum versus just feeling like you're diving into a dark hole of suffering.

Because that's not what it is. That's not what it should be. And I just wanted to simplify it for you and give you a clear understanding of what it is and what it really means to use shadow work for your benefit. And it is incredibly important in the process of growth. And I explain all of that in the episode.

So my intention for this is to really help you understand how you can work with it, why it's important, and my perspective on it. In the episode as well. At the end, I referenced the Metamorphosis, and it's interesting because I have been reflecting on The Metamorphosis, which is my longest running program, and there's been over 50 women who've gone through it, and everyone who desired to leave their job and start a business.

Did when they went through the metamorphosis. So I'm really, really proud of that. And even the women who already had their own businesses discovered their purpose on a much deeper level and were able to amplify and grow their businesses and their income in really expansive ways. So, you know, this program is really about being able to use shadow work in a way that's actually gonna help you grow and to be able to take the unconscious patterns that we project onto our reality based on our ancestral trauma that we took on, and the familial patterns and beliefs that we took on from our parents to really be able to understand what those are, so we can elevate beyond them and step into the truth of who we are and unapologetically live your purpose.

So, this program, I now have two ways to come into it. There's the group option where you get lifetime access to the trauma toolkit that I've created, and then you also get a monthly group call with me and the community support. And then there's also an option to add a private call with me each month. So I really wanted to make this as accessible as possible for people because I truly believe that.

Having access to these tools is a non-negotiable. As you step forward in your healing growth transformation journey, or if you are someone who's desiring to start a business or you know you need to make a change in your life, you're just not sure what direction to go or what that looks like. This is for you because once you go through this, you will know what it is that you're meant to do and you will be able to start doing it.

Everyone who comes through this program has done that. So reach out to me if that's something you're interested in. Um, you can also click the link below to get more information and if you're thinking about it and you're not sure, just reach out to me and we can chat about the best way for you to come in or what the best way for you to come into my world is.

I hope you enjoyed the episode and I'm sending you lots of love.

Hi everyone. Welcome back to the show. So this week I'm talking about shadow work, and I'd like to demystify it for you because I think this is something that we hear about all the time. People are talking about it all over the internet. People are saying you've gotta do shadow work. People are talking about how important it is, but I think there's a lot of information out there that is not necessarily correct.

It's oversimplified and it also has become this thing that I think people don't fully understand. Stand or it's like they think it's this thing. They have to go down this dark, deep rabbit hole that's gonna be painful and they would rather not do it. And I just want to demystify all of that for you and help you understand on a very simplistic level what shadow work is and how you can engage with it in a way that's actually gonna create growth and momentum instead of just diving down a deep, dark rabbit hole of pain and suffering.

Cause that's not what this is about. One of the things that I think is really important to understand is shadow work is not something that you just decide, okay, today I'm gonna do shadow work, and you just decide to delve into these dark corners of your mind and uncover things that you didn't already know.

It's not really like that. So first of all, before I go into that, I just wanna talk about what exactly shadow work is. The shadow, so to speak, is the parts of yourself or pieces of yourself, beliefs about yourself, thoughts about yourself that you are currently not willing to look at, right? So reasons you believe that there are things about you that are so shameful or so bad or so wrong that you need to hide them from other people and you need to hide them from yourself.

Also, it can be things that have happened or. Just situations that you've been in or beliefs that you have that you would rather not look at. And this is one of the biggest things that stops people from growing in the way that they like to is because they can feel that there's, things are gonna have to confront that they would rather not confront.

One of the things I find that is one of the biggest reasons why people don't want to uncover their purpose or start to live their purpose is because of what it would mean to the life they currently created, right? So maybe it would mean that. Your relationship with your partner is not actually the thing for you.

And because someone isn't willing to look at that, they don't want to uncover what their purpose is because it would mean having to look at their relationship, and that's not something they're willing to do. Now, this is not all conscious, right? This happens in the unconscious because we can unconsciously feel that if we allow ourselves to acknowledge what it is that we truly desire or what it is that we truly know we're meant to do, we can feel what the repercussions would be in the other areas of our lives.

So we don't allow ourselves to go there. So we leave that thing hidden in the subconscious and we say we're confused, or we don't know, or we're stuck, or we're not sure what to do. The confusion is just really an unwillingness to look at the truth that's lying underneath the surface, and that is the shadow.

It's the part of yourself that you're unwilling to look at. But the thing is you can't hide from it because it will show itself whatever it is that you're not willing to look at. It will show up in some area of your life to try to get your attention. And I'm gonna share some examples of the way that this shows up.

But the first thing I wanna say is that again, I don't think that shadow work needs to be this thing that you decide like, okay, before I can move forward with anything, or before I can create the life that I want, I have to sit for a year and do all of this shadow work and delve deep into this whole of suffering.

That is not what shadow work is. Shadow work is the process of looking at what is underneath the surface as you move forward in your own growth. So I think people have this misconception that before they can start doing the thing that they wanna do, like before you can start a business or before you can.

Grow your business or before you can become a healer or before you can get to a certain level, you have to do some kind of deep shadow work or some kind of deep healing. And I really don't see it that way. The way that I see it is that the growth informs the healing, the growth informs the shadow work.

So for me, whenever I've gotten to another level in my business, there's something new that I've had to look at within myself that was lying underneath the surface that I hadn't yet acknowledged. Maybe it's a way that I was holding myself back. Maybe it's a way that I wasn't showing up in my leadership energy.

Maybe it was the way that I wasn't showing up for myself. It's all of these things that come up as you grow. So this is what I always say to people who come to me and say, I know I wanna start my own business, but I know I need to do all of these things first. And what I say to them is, no, you can do healing first, and that is really great.

However, you're only gonna be able to get to a certain point. And then after that, there's nothing else that you can do until you actually move forward with starting the business or whatever it is that you wanna do. Maybe it's a relationship. I'm not saying it has to be a business, but until you start moving towards that thing, you are not gonna know what it is that you need to look at or that you need to heal until you start that process.

Because the process is gonna show you the things that you are not looking at, but you're not gonna know what they are. Until you start to move forward to the thing that you wanna create, to the business, to the relationship, to the new job. You're not gonna know what it is that you're not looking at until you start to move forward.

So the way that we can really start to uncover and work with the shadow is by looking at the ways that it actually shows up in your life. So some of the ways that it can show up for you. Or for anybody is through your relationships, and this is something that I talk about all the time. I talk about how your partner will show you the things within yourself that you're not willing to look at.

That's shadow work. And if you guys haven't listened to my new masterclass relationship currency, I highly recommend purchasing it and listening to it because I talk about. All of the different ways that your relationships show you what your growth edges are, especially in business, your relationships will show you the things that you're not willing to look at within yourself.

A perfect example I have of this is. I have a client who was talking to me about how she doesn't like when her husband yells at her daughter, and she was talking about how it really annoys her and why does he do that, and how can she stop him from doing that. Now, here's the thing on the surface, I could look at it and I could say, yeah, I agree.

He shouldn't be yelling at her, or he needs to deal with his anger, or whatever it is. But once we delve underneath the surface, it's like, why is that so triggering to you? Why is that so upsetting to you? Because in another situation, we could look at that and say he's disciplining her, or that's how he parents or, Whatever it is, but it was triggering her so much.

What is underneath of that? What is she not willing to look at that that is mirroring back to her? So if there's anything that's triggering you, anything that feels particularly challenging to you, anything within the context of a relationship or within your business that you look at and you're like, Why does this feel so challenging?

Why does this feel like I can't get past this? Why is this bothering me so much, or why do I feel so stuck here? There's usually an aspect of your shadow within that. There's usually something being mirrored back to you that you are not willing to look at. When I dove a little deeper with this client, we came to realize that when she was the age of her daughter, something particularly upsetting happened with her father, that she was traumatized by that she, even though she was willing to look at it, she hadn't completely healed the thing that had happened.

So every time her husband yelled at her daughter, She automatically felt the way that she felt when she was her daughter's age, but she didn't realize that's what was happening. She thought it was about him yelling at her daughter, right? And she was projecting her feelings of wounding onto her daughter.

But really it was a piece of her that she had compartmentalized that was so hard for her to deal with. That she didn't wanna look at it and she didn't wanna allow herself to fully feel it. So the way that the shadow got her attention was through her husband and her daughter, cuz her husband was representing her father and her daughter was representing her.

And she was recreating the feeling that she had. When she was her daughter's age. So that is a perfect representation, perfect example of shadow work of how the shadow gets your attention. So shadow work is not about just deciding, okay, I'm gonna go uncover what's beneath the surface. It's being able to look at the things that are already happening in your life and read them and understand them.

As ways that your shadow is communicating with you, and start to look at them as invitations to go deeper within yourself and look at the things that you haven't been willing to acknowledge. This is really important because we need to be able to look at the situations in our lives, and instead of making them about the circumstances, making them about the people, making them about what's outside of us, we have to look at, okay, what.

Deep within me is trying to get my attention so that I can look at it, acknowledge it, and move through it. And this is not something that is easy to do, right? It takes a lot of deep understanding. It takes a lot of self-awareness and it takes getting support. But if you can learn how to. See the world this way and be able to look at the things that are happening in your life as mirroring back to you an invitation for healing.

You're gonna move really quickly on your journey. And I do believe that's why I've moved so fast in so many ways in my growth and business, is because that I have these tools to be able to look at myself in these different ways and to be able to look at, okay, I feel stuck in my business. Okay, it's not about.

All of these outside things, you know, it's not about the clients who moved on or it's not about, or that I don't have enough time because of my kids. Whatever the stories are that we tell ourselves, it's never about that. It's always about a deeper level that you are being invited to go to within yourself, and a deeper level of acknowledgement of the things that you haven't been willing to look at.

I'm gonna give you another example of this. So I had another client whose daughter was really triggering her. She would always talk back to her, always give her an attitude, and sometimes she would say really mean things and she would say these things that. Really we're like sticking the knife and then turning it kind of things.

Things that really struck her, things that really bothered her, and she would always kind of want to look at it from more of that behavioral perspective of like, okay, how can I change this behavior within her? It's about her. Why is she behaving this way? But then when we delved underneath the surface a little bit, what we came to find out is that when she was that age, She had something really upsetting happen with friends where she felt completely ostracized herself worth was really affected, and it really affected the way that she looked at herself and the way that she held value around herself and the way that she perceived her own worthiness.

So every time her daughter was saying things to her, it was activating this wound around her own worthiness that she felt at that age. So really what was happening is she was being invited to look at this wounded part of her from when she was that age, but if she didn't have the support of me telling her that she would've just thought her daughter was being an asshole.

This is again, another perfect illustration of the way the shadow gets your attention. And then, you know, this can even happen with things in the outside world if we're constantly looking at, oh, like the world is so fucked up, or Why is this happening? Or why is that happening? It's always a reflection of the deeper struggle that we're having within, right, or the deeper ways that we criticize ourselves from within.

And you guys have all heard me share. With my husband. One of the biggest things that would bother me about him was the fact that I felt like he was always criticizing me and the fact that I felt like he was always being so hard on me. He was always telling me what I was doing wrong, but this has been one of the biggest points of growth for me.

Is to realize the fact that I'm actually the one that was always being really hard on myself, that was always criticizing myself and always looking for ways to make myself wrong. Now, this was in an attempt to fix myself, quote unquote, or continue to make myself better. But this is a really important point that I wanna make, is shadow work is not about fixing yourself.

Right. And I think so many people can get caught up in this paradigm of feeling like you constantly have to figure out what's wrong with you so that you can fix it. And this is actually not personal growth work. This is actually a trauma response. What I mean by this is when we were younger, most of us, probably all of us who are listening to this, we learned that we had to be a certain way in order to receive the love and connection that we desired from our parents, right?

So we learned that if we acted a certain way or we did a certain thing, or we did what our parents wanted, then that would be the way that we could receive the loving connection we desired or. If we suppress certain pieces of ourselves, we learn that that's how we be able to get attention. Because if we truly showed who we are, it might make other people uncomfortable or they might not know what to do with it, and then they wouldn't be able to be there for us and give us that love and connection that we desire.

So we learned that we had to edit ourselves, we had to fix ourselves. We had to change things about ourselves in order to get what we wanted. But that way of being no longer applies to you as an adult, but because it's such a deep ingrained pattern and because we grew up with it almost as a means of survival, we don't even realize that we're doing it.

So a lot of times what ends up happening is we end up continuously looking for the thing that we need to edit, the thing that we need to change in order to get the love, the approval, the connection that we deeply desire. But when it comes to personal growth, when it comes to stepping into your leadership energy, when it comes to making more money, when it comes to growing a business, that shit does not work.

That will actually stop you from growing your business, from making money, from being the leader. That you know that you're meant to be. Because if you're constantly editing yourself and you're constantly trying to change who you are, then you cannot be in your true power. You cannot be in your true authenticity, and you cannot be in your true potency.

It just doesn't work like that. You have to allow yourself to unapologetically be who you are. So to bring it back to shadow work, being able to look at the ways that you may be consciously editing or changing who you are because you believe that's what people want, or you subconsciously believe that's how you're going to get the approval or the connection or the love that you desire.

So another piece of the shadow is being able to look at where you might not be being authentically you and not showing up fully as yourself. Because that is a huge piece of it because sometimes we don't even realize the ways that we are internally editing. We're internally hiding. We are internally keeping ourselves small and stopping ourselves from being in the truth of who we are.

And this stuff is not something that you can just sit and be like, okay, now I'm gonna discover all of the ways that I'm hiding, or all of the ways that I'm playing small. It's a process of understanding that and stepping forward into your purpose and understanding your truth. And. Starting a business around it.

All of these things are ways to get you to look at these things because as you are continued to be called forward into higher and higher levels of leadership, you have to look at these things. So it's like the growth informs the shadow work and the shadow work informs the growth. They're the same thing, but what shadow work isn't is just constantly looking at ways to fix yourself.

But the way you'll be able to see what you're being called to look at is to look at what you're triggered by, to look at where you might be making it about someone else. Let me just tell you the amount of people who have told me that they wanna do the metamorphosis, but they can't because of what their husband is gonna think.

Or they wanna work with me privately, but they're not able to because they're afraid of what their husband is gonna think, or their husband doesn't support them. Now I get that on one level, yes, obviously you wanna be on the same page as your partner, but at the same time, whenever we are making something about another person, it's really about us.

It's the same thing with money. Whenever we say like, oh, well, I don't have the money. If you really wanted to have the money for something, you could, right? We all know how to resource ourselves if we really want something, but really it's usually about your unwillingness to look at yourself and grow. So wherever you're making something about somebody else, again, that is the shadow.

That's an opportunity to turn it around and look at what am I actually not willing to look at within myself, because I did that for a long time too. I said I wanna quit my job, but I know my husband isn't gonna let me. That is the most like victimy thing ever, right? Because if I truly wanted to do something, there's nobody that can stop me.

And I'm not saying that we should just do whatever we want and not take more partners feelings into consideration. But what I am saying is a lot of times we tend to say that another person is the reason why we're not doing the thing that we know we're meant to do. But really it's not about the other person.

It's really about where you are holding yourself back, or you are saying stuck in fear. About stepping into your full truth, your full power, and your full potency. So these are really important clues to know when the shadow is popping up, when you're making something about something outside of you saying like, oh, well, if this were only different then.

Once my kids are older, then I'll do this, or once my husband and I are in a different place, then I'll do this. Those are all really important things to look at because it's never about another person or it's never about an outer circumstance. That's always just a sign that there's something that you are not willing to look at.

And then the other thing I wanna say about this is, this is not something that I recommend doing on your own. Understanding how to utilize shadow work and understanding how to look at these pieces of you that are uncomfortable to look at, it takes a certain level of courage. It takes a certain level of willingness.

And it also takes getting support, right? And not to say that you can't do things, but you need someone to point out to you the things that you're not able to see. And again, you guys have all heard me share. I have not gone a day in my business without mentorship. Even before I started my business, I had coaching and mentorship because when you decide that you are going to.

Move towards living a life that's in alignment with your truth. There are things that you're just not gonna be able to see that you need an outsider to point out to you, somebody who's walked the path, somebody who knows how to help you see these things and knows how to support you through it. It's really important because there's just gonna be things that are blind spots.

I still have them all the time. I just had a conversation with one of my mentors this morning about ways that I am desiring to move forward in my business that I just wasn't able to see until she illuminated it for me. That's just how it is on the path. There's always gonna be things that you're not able to see, so having someone who can point those things out to you is crucial, especially if you are committed to not only doing the deeper work, but creating the life that you truly desire and really living and sharing your purpose and making money doing it.

Of course, that's obviously something we all desire. There's a lot of pieces to this, but I will say the most important things are just. Being able to read and know where the shadow is, is surfacing, where it's showing itself to you, and then being able to really understand what it's telling you, and that is what shadow work really is.

It's about being able to look at what's happening in your life and reflect on how it's inviting you to look at something deeper within yourself. And again, you might not always know what that is. Cause I, I always have people ask me, well, how do I do that? Or, how do I know what that is? And you might not know.

And that's okay. That's why we do things like the Metamorphosis, which is all about being able to understand these patterns so that you can look at what's going on in your life and you're able to see, oh, I'm playing out this from childhood, or, oh, This is my pattern with my mom. And once you're able to recognize those things, then you're able to navigate your growth so much more quickly because you understand these deeper energetics that are going on within you that you might just might not have understood before.

There's no way you could have until these things come to the surface. So that's why I created this massive toolkit to help you understand these deeper things going on within you that you just wouldn't have been aware of before, and then you can use those things to navigate your growth much more quickly.

Just to recap here, shadow work is not about fixing yourself. It's about a deeper level of self-awareness, and it's about calling you forward into new levels of power and leadership. It's not about just saying, oh, this thing is wrong with me, and once I fix it, then I'll be good enough. That's not what this is about, because that is an ongoing cycle, and that's more of that victim consciousness, right, of like, oh, I just have to do this thing, and then.

I'll be happier. I just have to do this thing and then I'll finally be approved of, or I'll finally be good enough. That's that like old childhood mentality where we're like constantly waiting for the parent to finally give us permission to be who we are, or finally tell us that we're good enough, or finally tell us that they love us.

That's not the vibe here. It's about elevating beyond that and being able to be really. Honest with yourself and self-reflective to say, okay, these things in my life that I think are keeping me stuck, these things in my life that I think are roadblocks, what are they actually inviting me into, and how can I actually elevate past that using the information that I get from these other things in my life and reflect on what it means for me?

That's what it's really about. I think it's really important to understand what it is and what it isn't. And then the other piece of this that I just wanna say is when we uncover things about ourselves that we haven't been willing to look at, or we acknowledge pieces of our past that we have wanted to sweep under the rug.

It's not about getting rid of it. People always say to me, oh, I wanna clear this. I wanna get rid of this. That's not what this is about. This is about embracing all parts of yourself. It's about accepting and acknowledging everything about you and in that process, releasing the shame or guilt that you have about these parts of you that you deemed on worthy.

So it's really about being able to fully embrace who you are. And realizing that you have literally nothing to be ashamed of, and there's nothing wrong with you at all. That's what this is really about. It's not about fixing or changing or getting rid of, it's about full and total radical self-acceptance.

It's about compassion, it's about love, and it's about embracing. And as you go down that process, The process of growth becomes easier and easier because it's easier for you to look at the parts of yourself that you hadn't previously been aware of in order to grow because you have a level of self-acceptance and self-love, that it's not so painful to look at the things that you weren't aware of before.

It's just like, I see that I'm gonna do that and I'm gonna move on, and I'm gonna continue to grow. Once you have these tools to. Be able to understand these deeper pieces of yourself, to be able to understand where you're projecting, where you're playing out patterns, then it's so much easier to navigate growth.

That's basically everything I wanna say about the shadow. I do recommend listening to my Relationship Currency Masterclass. It's only $97. We're gonna link that below. So for anybody who hasn't listened, you can go ahead and purchase that, cuz I really go deeper here. And so the ways that you can project onto the people in your lives and how you can take that information and use it for your growth instead of thinking that it's about the other person.

And then also, if you are desiring to go deeper with this work and really obtain a set of tools that can help you navigate not only your own shadow work, but stepping into a deeper level of purpose and start a business doing it, then the metamorphosis is definitely for you. At this point, I think there's been over 50 women who've come through the metamorphosis, and everyone who didn't already have a business left their jobs and started a business.

When going through the metamorphosis and the businesses they start are related to their deeper level of purpose that they uncovered as they went through the program. This is. A incredibly powerful toolkit to move through the familial and ancestral programming that stops you from stepping into the truth of who you are.

And it's just such a powerful program, and I'm so proud of it and the results that everyone has had, who's come through it. So there's two ways to come in. One is the group option, which is 4 9 97. There is a payment plan, and then there's also an option to add a one-to-one call with me each month, and that's 9 9 97.

And there is a payment plan for that too. So I wanted to make it as easy as possible for everyone to get access. To these tools. The group option is a great place to start for a lot of people, and then you can always go back and add the private calls if you want to do that, but to have access to these tools for the rest of your life so that you can go back, like I have people reaching out to me all the time saying, That they still use all of the tools all the time, all of the breath work sessions, all of the meditations, they go back and use them.

It's been two or three years since they've finished the program and they go back and use them all the time. When things come up in their lives, when things come up in their business and or if something comes up around. Their mother's stuff, their mother wound, they go back and use the, there's a whole module around the mother wound, or if something comes up around their father's stuff, they go back and do the father breathwork session.

Like it's incredibly comprehensive and I really don't know anything else out there that helps you navigate the different relationship patterns in your life and how you project them onto your reality and how to stop doing that so you can really step into the truth of who you are and live it. Without apology, definitely reach out to me to chat about the metamorphosis.

We're gonna link that below, but it is really, in my opinion, the best way to delve into the shadow and really be able to use that information to propel you. On your path and give you a ton of momentum in whatever direction it is that you wanna go. Even if you don't wanna start a business, maybe you're calling in a new relationship, maybe you're calling in a new job.

Whatever it is that you want to create, this will help you get there because it will help you navigate the stuff that comes up along the way. With grace and ease and speed of course. So I will leave it there. Thank you so much for listening and please reach out to me with any questions about the Metamorphosis or any of my other programs.

I'm sending you so much love and I will talk to you soon.
